The pacing occasionally suffers from what might be called "mystery bloat," where the sheer number of conspiracies (a cult in the arts building, a black-market grade exchange, a surveillance AI in the dorms) begins to strain credibility. Furthermore, players who favor the series’ lighter, slice-of-life moments may find the unrelenting grimness of this chapter exhausting. Yet, even these critiques feel intentional. WickedWare seems less interested in crafting a balanced experience than in replicating the overwhelming paranoia of a student who realizes too late that they have enrolled in a prison with a library.
