The film does not only focus on Hitler. It is an ensemble piece that follows the fates of others in the bunker: Albert Speer, who defies Hitler's "scorched earth" orders; the Goebbels family, with Magda making the horrifying decision to poison her children rather than let them live in a world without National Socialism; and Eva Braun, who throws a party as the world falls apart around them.
